Santiago, Chile – August 14, 2024

The new Law No. 21.643, also known as the “Karin Law,” has brought significant changes to labor regulations in Chile. It requires companies to make important updates to their internal processes. At Esinel Ingenieros Limitada, we have proactively adapted to these new requirements to ensure our operations meet the updated legal standards.

The “Karin Law” changes the Labor Code and other related laws to prevent, investigate, and address workplace harassment, sexual harassment, and violence. This law strengthens Chile’s commitment to International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention 190, which aims to eliminate violence and harassment in the workplace.

Key requirements of this law include creating clear policies against harassment and violence at work, setting up effective ways to report and handle issues, and taking steps to ensure a respectful and safe work environment.

In response, Esinel Ingenieros Limitada has updated our policies and procedures on preventing workplace harassment, sexual harassment, and violence. We have introduced new informational materials, specialized training, and presentations for all employees about the new regulations.
